Fresh vegetables in school lunch programHealthy Changes in Our School Cafeteria

Like all schools, Gardner-Dickinson follows federal standards that help ensure meals are healthy and well balanced to provide students with the nutrition they need to succeed in school.

Students now have more options to enjoy fruits, vegetables, whole grains and proteins with meals containing less fat and salt. Healthier choices at lunch make a healthier school environment and teaches children how to make smart food selections that will hopefully carry with them throughout their lives.

If you have any questions about how the cafeteria staff is meeting these federal standards, please email Food Services Director Lori Audi or call her at 283-4600 ext. 22.

Meal Charge Policy

If a student forgets to bring money for a school lunch or breakfast, the district will allow the student to "charge" the cost of his/her meal, which will be paid back at a later date. However, only a regular lunch or breakfast can be "charged", not snack or extras. After three "charges", Food Service Director Lori Audi will contact the parent or guardian. If there is no resolution, Ms. Audi will refer the matter to Principal Mary Yodis.
