Today, the State Education Department released guidance for schools to reopen in the fall. This follows a framework of guidance that the Board of Regents presented on Monday. The information is available on the State Education Department’s website, http://www.nysed.gov/.
Wynantskill UFSD will review the guidance as we work together with faculty, staff and families to create a plan for reopening in the fall. The plan will incorporate both in-school and remote learning to account for our capacity to follow the Department of Health guidelines and COVID-19 infection rates at any given time. As always, the health and safety of your children is our top priority and our plan will always be based on that priority. We will certainly keep our community updated as that work progresses during the next 2 weeks.
School districts will have to submit reopening plans to the State by July 31, with Governor Cuomo announcing a decision on the reopening of schools during the week of August 1.
