Dear Parents,
The annual New York State (NYS) assessments for Grades 3-8 English Language arts (ELA) and Math will be administered after our spring break. These annual tests are state mandated and designed to measure student achievement and proficiency with the NYS learning standards that guide classroom instruction. The data we receive help us prepare for and plan our academic programming for the following school year.
Our testing dates are:
ELA Part 1: Wednesday, April 19
ELA Part 2: Thursday, April 20
ELA Make-up Day: Friday, April 21
Math Part 1: Tuesday, May 2
Math Part 2: Wednesday, May 3
Math Make-up Day: Thursday, May 4
Administration will begin between 8:30-8:45 am. The tests are untimed and students may take as long as they need to complete them within the confines of the school day. The tests typically take 80 – 100 minutes to complete.
