At yesterday’s joint Troy City School District and Wynantskill Union Free School District Board of Education meeting, the final Feasibility Study Report, which has been approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), was formally accepted by both Boards.
In addition, both Boards voted to move forward with the reorganization (annexation) process. The Wynantskill Board of Education has scheduled a community vote for:
Tuesday, March 31, 2026
12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m in the GD library.
Immediately following the joint meeting, the Wynantskill Board of Education held its regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. During this meeting, the tentative budget was presented.
This presentation is earlier than usual in order to prepare for two possible budget scenarios:
-If the annexation vote is not approved: The proposed tax levy increase would be 6.4%.
-If the annexation vote is approved: The proposed tax levy increase would be 0%.
