Donate your gently used snow gear!

Dear GD Families,

Gardner-Dickinson is currently looking for gently used snow gear that may no longer be needed in your households for those students who may not have any to wear while they go outside for recess. Please consider bringing in any snow pants, coats, or boots you may no longer have a need for. We greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide!

A Note from Nurse Mardon

Hello GD Families,

With all the sickness that is going around, I wanted to send out some reminders to help keep everyone safe and healthy. Please make sure to encourage good hand hygiene (frequent handwashing and hand sanitizer) at home, as well as in school.
If your child has a fever (99.6 or higher), has diarrhea or has been vomiting, they must stay home until they are fever-free, diarrhea-free, or vomit-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. If your child needs medication in the morning to feel well enough to go to school, please keep them home.
If your child has an infection that they are taking antibiotics for (pink eye, strep throat, etc), please keep them home until they have been on the medication for 24 hours.
If your child is diagnosed with COVID-19, they should remain out of school for the first 5 days post-diagnosis. For example, if your child was diagnosed on a Wednesday, that is considered to be day 0. Your child should remain home through Monday (day 5) and may return to school with masking encouraged on Tuesday (day 6) with improving symptoms. If your child is wearing a mask upon returning to school, they may take the mask off on day 11 (Sunday). If your family is in need of COVID-19 home tests, please let us know, we have free test kits available in the Health Office. Additionally, if your child is symptomatic and you would like them to be tested in the Health Office for COVID-19, we have the ability to do so with your permission. There is a permission form available on the Wynantskill UFSD website, under Health Office. It is called “Point of Care Testing Form”.
If your child is going to be out of school for illness, doctor’s appointments, etc., please call the Health Office at 518-283-4600 ext 3 or the Main Office at 518-283-4600.
You may also email healthoffice@wynantskillufsd.org with any questions or concerns.
Thank you!

Sincerely,

Katie Mardon, RN
