An Update to the Free and Reduced School Meals Program

Attention GD Parents:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has concluded its free meals waiver, allowing school meal programs across the country to continue serving meals to children at no cost, effective June 30th, 2022. All students will need to submit an updated application to the cafeteria to be approved for free and reduced meals for the upcoming 22-23 school year. It is important that families who believe they may qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program submit an application.

The federal Free and Reduced Price School Meals program has provided low-cost or free lunches to students since 1946. It is a completely confidential program. Parents who think they may be eligible are highly encouraged to contact Food Services Director Lori Audi or fill out an application and submit it to her in the Cafeteria. Applications must be filled out each year. This can be done anytime during the school year. Income eligibility information is available here
