Free and Reduced Price Meals

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has concluded its free meals waiver, allowing school meal programs across the country to continue serving meals to children at no cost, effective June 30th, 2022. All students will need to submit an updated application to the cafeteria to be approved for free and reduced meals for the upcoming 22-23 school year. It is important that families who believe they may qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meals program submit an application.

The federal Free and Reduced Price School Meals program has provided low-cost or free lunches to students since 1946. It is a completely confidential program. Parents who think they may be eligible are highly encouraged to contact Food Services Director Lori Audi or fill out an application and submit it to her in the Cafeteria. Applications must be filled out each year. This can be done anytime during the school year. Income eligibility information is available here.

Special Occasion Snack Menu Available

As so much in our world has changed. We still want to have some kind of normality and a need to celebrate important milestones

We are proud to offer, for purchase, to our elementary students, a special treat. The cafeteria adheres to all dietary restrictions of our students, making it less stressful on parents, teachers and students. For $1.00 per student a snack will be provided to celebrate those special moments. We require a minimum 1-week advanced notice along with payment to allow for ordering and scheduling.

For a full list of available treats please contact the cafeteria at 518-283-4600 ext 213 as items may change with season and availability

If you have any questions please contact Lori Audi Director of Food Services 518-283-4600 ext. 22 or at laudi@wynantskillufsd.org.

Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeteria

Gardner-Dickinson follows federal standards that help ensure meals are healthy and well balanced to provide students with the nutrition they need to succeed in school.

Students now have more options to enjoy fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and meals with less fat and salt. Healthier choices at lunch make a healthier school environment and teaches children how to make smart food choices.

If you have any questions, please contact Food Services Director Lori Audi.

Meal Charge Policy

If a student forgets to bring money for a school lunch or breakfast, the district will allow the student to “charge” the cost of a meal which will be paid back at a later date. Only a regular lunch or breakfast (not snacks or extras) can be “charged”. After three “charges” Food Services Director Lori Audi will contact the parent or guardian. If there is no resolution Ms. Audi will refer the matter to Superintendent Dr. Mary Yodis.
