Thank you so much for your much needed support and donations. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to these families affected during this time.

Wynantskill UFSD Earns Safety Excellence Award

Mr. Sam Beardsley (Health and Safety Specialist) and Mr Rocco Mazzarello (Head of Buildings, Grounds and Transportation)

The Wynantskill Union Free School District was awarded the Utica National Insurance Group’s “School Safety Excellence Award” for 2022. WFUSD earned the highest level of distinction for this honor and was awarded at the Titanium with Honors level.

Mr. Beardsley and Mr. Mazzarello accepted a plaque which commemorates the district’s safety efforts from Utica National representatives. They also accepted a $500 award on behalf of the District, for use in furthering those safety efforts.

The School Safety Award is an annual distinction that recognizes school districts’ efforts to create a safer school environment. Utica National’s School Safety Excellence Award Program has three levels – titanium, platinum and gold – in which schools can earn a meritorious distinction by meeting specific criteria to enhance overall safety. Through the program, schools with their own transportation, schools with contract transportation, and BOCES are evaluated. Categories covered include bullying prevention programs, playground safety and other areas, and are measured using specific, quantifiable surveys.

Congratulations to our excellent staff and school community on being recognized for a job well done!
